Matthew 5:38 -39 (NKJV)
"You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. "But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also."
I felt lead to write this let me talk to you heart to heart.
Jesus addresses something that feels justified getting even. If they hurt you, hurt them back. If they talk about you, talk about them. If they reject you, reject them harder. But that is not Kingdom. And if you are called, if you are anointed, if you carry oil...... you cannot afford to respond like everyone else.
I know what it feels like to be misunderstood. I know what it feels like to be wounded and want justice. But I also learned something: every time I tried to defend myself in the flesh, I delayed what God was trying to do in the Spirit. Retaliation keeps you emotionally tied to the offense. Freedom releases you into your next. Jesus was teaching us that maturity looks like restraint. Power is not proven in how loud you fight back. Power is proven in how disciplined you remain.
Some of you are in seasons where people have done you wrong. And everything in you wants to fight back in defense mold. But hear me....... God is your vindicator. You do not have to fight battles He already won.
When you choose not to repay evil for evil, you are not weak, you are not soft you are saved. You are walking in authority and let me say this boldly....."God called you, He will defend you. You don’t have to clap back. You don’t have to prove yourself. You don’t have to fix every lie spoken about you".
Stay focused. Stay disciplined. Stay healed. Because the moment you respond from pain instead of purpose, the enemy wins access to your peace.
But when you trust God to handle it? That’s when elevation comes.
Not every insult deserves your response.
Not every attack deserves your attention.
You can stand firm without becoming bitter. Instead of reacting from wounded pride, respond from Kingdom identity because that's who YOU ARE.
